EndNote is a reference management software produced by Clarivate Analytics and used to manage bibliographies and references. Chalmers and Gothenburg University have a site licence for EndNote, which permits all students and staff members to use the software, at work and at home on your own computer. EndNote is available for Windows and Macintosh. The program includes features for:
Staff: If your computer is a CDA Windows or if you have a CDA Mac, contact IT-Service.
Student: As a student, download the software here.
EndNote have many different output styles that you can choose when you start the program. At Chalmers, APA and IEEE are mainly used as reference styles, but also Vancouver. These can be chosen in the Style Manager.
However, for a swedish translation of the APA styles one of the following styles can be downloaded:
To install the style
To select the style in Word
In order to enhance the Find Full Text function in EndNote, you need to add two URL:s in EndNote Preferences:
Edit / Preferences / Find Full text
OpenURL Path: http://link.lib.chalmers.se
Authenticate with:
URL: http://proxy.lib.chalmers.se/login
If you write your text using LaTeX, you can still use EndNote (both the desktop version and EndNote Online). Go to Edit → Output Style → BibTeX Export using EN Label Field. You need then to add a Label, which is an unique identifier for you reference in the LaTeX environment. The Label field should be used with the command \cite{} (see also Overleaf). It is common to choose the first author's surname and the year of publication, e.g. Label = Svensson2018 and \cite{} = \cite{Svensson2018}.
You should then mark your reference, right-click on it, and choose Copy Formatted. You can paste the selected reference into the .bib-file which you use for your bibliography.
